AS WE approach the latter stages of the season, I can honestly say there’s a lot to look forward to here at Barnsley.
We still have plenty to play for, and I’m excited about the journey ahead.
Every match is a chance to show what we’re capable of, and we’re putting in the hard work necessary to keep moving forward, starting with our next match against Stockport County.
The players and I are working tirelessly in training, focusing on the details that will help us perform at our best.
We know there’s a lot at stake, and each player is giving their all to make sure we’re ready for what’s coming.
The challenge of getting the best possible results is something we embrace, and we know we have the talent and mentality to succeed.
We’ve got to continue pushing ourselves beyond what we think we can achieve.
We’re all in this together, and we’re determined to make sure we finish the season as strong as possible.
I’d also like to take a moment to recognise the fantastic effort our recruitment team has put in.
They’ve worked relentlessly to bring in players who will add quality and depth to the squad.
The transfer window was a busy one, but the additions we’ve made are ones I believe will really make a difference.
We’ve seen a lot of clubs investing heavily in their squads recently, and while that’s to be expected, we’re focused on our own journey.
It’s not just about spending money: it’s about making the right decisions and building a squad that can work together, develop, and continue improving.
We’ve been mindful of that, and I’m confident the new arrivals will enhance our overall performance.
A key point I’d like to address is the way we judge players.
It’s important we don’t rush to form opinions when players first arrive.
I’ve always believed that you should judge players when they leave, not when they arrive.
The process of settling in, adapting to new surroundings, and finding rhythm takes time. What matters most is how they perform once they’ve had the opportunity to fully integrate into the team. I’m confident in the new players we’ve brought in, and I know they’re ready to show what they can do.
I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible support we have from our fans.
They are always fair and back our players as long as they see that those players are fighting for the shirt.
The connection between the team and the supporters is vital, and we appreciate everything our fans do for us. We’ll keep working hard for them, and we’ll continue giving our all in every match.
Of course, we’re still very much in the hunt for what we want to achieve this season. There’s no room for negativity or looking back. It’s about keeping that positive mindset and focusing on the work we need to do. Every match is an opportunity, and we’re ready to take them on with everything we’ve got.
Let’s get on with it. There’s a lot to be excited about, and I’m confident we’ll continue to make progress.
With the support of our fans, we’ll keep pushing forward.
The best is yet to come.
