Barnsley have not received any approaches for star midfielder Adam Phillips, amid media reports linking him with Championship clubs, the Chronicle understands.
Phillips, who will turn 27 on Wednesday, has scored seven goals and provided five assists in League One this season, plus another goal in the FA Cup.
He has been linked with Preston North End and Swansea City but the Chronicle understands there has been no approach as of early Monday afternoon.
The Reds are thought to be determined to hold onto Phillips – who has been one of their best players consistently since signing in 2022 – while he is contracted until 2026 with an option in the club’s favour.
They are looking to recruit, with up front and goalkeeper thought to be the two main areas having already recruited left wing-back Neil Farrugia.
