Elite AFC were the only Barnsley side to end the year with a win on Saturday as they triumphed 2-1 at home to SJR Worksop.

They trailed at the break but Archie Micklethwaite and Jacob Tupling secured three points in the Central Midlands League.

The Cudworth club are now third in the table with 34 points from 17 games.

In NCEL Division One, Worsbrough Bridge extended their unbeaten run to 14 games but their play-off push was slowed down as they lost a two-goal lead in a 3-3 draw at home to Dronfield Town.

Bridge fell behind but went 3-1 up thanks to a Lloyd Smith brace and a goal by Keelan Grist.

But Dronfield came back to draw.

Bridge are unbeaten in 14 with ten wins after not winning any of their first nine.

They are eighth with 38 points from 22 games, seven points off the top five play-off places.

Wombwell Town’s title chances suffered a serious blow when they lost 5-4 at home to Glasshoughton Welfare.

They went 5-1 down, with Owen Sykes scoring for 2-1.

But Town pulled three back after 83 minutes, Daniel Youel scoring twice and Eddie Agnew once.

They are still second with 48 points from 23 games.

Wombwell are 14 points behind leaders Horbury Town, who are in the only automatic promotion place but have played three extra games and face Wombwell next week.

Athersley Rec lost 1-0 at high-flying Brigg Town who scored in the 89th minute.

Rec are now 11th with 36 points from 25 games.

Dearne and District’s game at Appleby Frodingham was called off due to fog.

Dearne are still fifth with 45 points from 24 games, in the play-off places on goal difference. In the Premier Division, Penistone Church slipped out of the play-off places as they finished the year with a 0-0 draw at home to Parkgate.

They are now sixth with 38 points from 25 games, and 13 to play.

They are a point outside the top six, who all have at least one game in hand.
