BARNSLEY runners enjoyed success at the Percy Pud 10k which takes place around the Damflask reservoir on the outskirts of Sheffield.
Kieron Sexton-Campbell, of Barnsley Harriers, finished 11th in a field of more than 3,000 with a time of 32-12.
Penistone Footpath Runner Rachael Mayston was third in the over50 women’s age category out of 131.
Bill Phillips placed third in the men’s over75 age category.
First back for Penistone was Andrew Heppenstall in a time of 34-32. He placed fourth in the men’s over40 age category which consisted of 220 runners.
Second back for Penistone was Flynn Rogers, aged 15, in a time of 38-13.
Second woman back for Penistone was Jade Crosby in 43-16.
Richard Docker placed fifth in the men’s over65 age category.
Barnsley AC’s Jack Bellamy, Alan Nutton and Gregg Harrison all posted PBs.
Jack knocked four seconds off, finishing in 35-43, while Alan shaved two seconds off in a time of 36-35. Gregg ran 41-18. Gail Colville won her over55 women’s category, finishing in 43-06.
Lydia Race was second over40 woman, running 90 seconds quicker than at last week’s Doncaster 10k to finish in a time of 38-33.
There was also the Gravy Pud Fell Race in Tintwistle near Glossop.
Penistone’s George Parr came 13th overall in a time of 41-30.
First woman back for Penistone was Lesley Parker in a time of 55-23 which also gave her third place in the women’s over45 age category.
Penistone’s Heather Simpson made the long trip worthwhile by grabbing an age group win in the Kuwait City Half Marathon. She clocked 1-50-08 in the women’s over45 age category.
Despite the recent flooding, the Valencia Marathon went ahead as planned. Naomi Drakeford ran her second fastest marathon time to finish in 2-49-05.
At the Croft Motor Circuit Half Marathon, Barnsley Harriers husband and wife duo Jason and Emma Shepherd both claimed first place in their respective age categories.
Jason won the over50 men’s category and Emma the over35 women’s. Jessica Holt was third over35, running with her daughter Darcy in her buggy.
