YOUR chance to watch Barnsley’s sole competitor in the Paris Olympics starts this afternoon.
Becky Moody, 44, from Gunthwaite, was called up to the Team GB dressage team at the eleventh hour after Charlotte Dujardin was removed from the squad following the release of a controversial video of her whipping a horse.
Becky’s Olympic campaign starts this afternoon in the glorious surroundings of Chateau de Versailles.
Moody is in Group C with a 3.11pm start (UK time). She will be ninth in the group to go.
The top two athletes from each group and the six athletes with the next best scores (including ties) will qualify for the individual final (Grand Prix Freestyle).
The best ten teams (including all tied for 10th place) will qualify for the team final (Grand Prix Special).
Team GB are among the favourites for the team title with the experienced Carl Hester and Lottie Fry making up the team.
Hester goes out on Fame at 11.25am and Fry is on Glamourdale tomorrow morning.
Becky will be riding ten-year-old Jagerbomb.
Coverage of the dressage is available on the BBC and Discovery Plus.
