THE former Conservative MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge has said she is going to step away from politics after losing her seat at the general election - and is a new host on GB News.
Miriam Cates was elected as the MP for the area in 2019 and served in the constituency for five years.
She was ousted from her seat by new Labour MP Dr Marie Tidball earlier this month - and she’s now said she will step away from politics for the foreseeable future.
Mrs Cates has been revealed as a new host on GB News.
Mrs Cates added: “Lots of people have asked me about what I’m doing next.
“I’m going to step away from politics and pursue opportunities in the media, research and other fields.
“Like most people I care a lot about the future of this country and the wider world.
“As a former teacher I’m passionate about all sorts of subjects and hope I can make a difference in the things that matter.
“There is life after politics.”
