A CHILD at a Barnsley primary school has tested positive for coronavirus.
Staff at Kings Oak Primary Learning Centre, Wombwell, confirmed the news to parents today (Thursday).
The school immediately closed the ‘bubble’ the child was in, with other children in the bubble contacted by phone and letter and asked to self-isolate for two weeks.
“We are confident that children in other bubbles in other parts of the school have definitely not been affected by this case,” a statement issued to parents said.
Kings Oak is the second school in Wombwell to see a confirmed case of Covid-19, after a staff member at Park Street Primary School was confirmed as contracting the virus on Friday.
