A FUNDRAISING appeal to help support the daughter and sister of the victims of a horrific collision yesterday has raised more than £14,000 in four hours.
Yesterday, six people died in a collision on the A61 between Staincross and Newmillerdam.
Among those who lost their lives were Shane Roller, Shannen Morgan and their daughters Lillie and Rubie.
The appeal has been launched by Nick Hepple to help the couple’s surviving daughter Poppie.
The GoFund Me appeal says: “We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a plea for help. On 21st July 2024, a tragic car accident took the lives of Poppie's entire family – her loving mum, dad, and two little sisters. At just 11 years old, Poppie has lost her whole world in an instant.
“Poppie is a bright and resilient young girl, known for her infectious smile and kind heart. Despite her unimaginable loss, she shows incredible strength every day. She loves football and playing outdoors. Poppie is also a huge Taylor Swift fan and finds comfort in her music.
“Poppie now faces an uncertain future. With her immediate family gone, she needs support to ensure she has a stable, loving environment where she can heal and grow. The funds raised will be used for:
Living Expenses: Ensuring Poppie has a safe and comfortable place to live.
Education: Covering school fees, supplies, and extracurricular activities to help Poppie continue her education.
Counseling and Emotional Support: Providing Poppie with the professional help she needs to cope with her grief.
Future Care: Setting up a trust fund to secure Poppie's long-term wellbeing and any unforeseen needs that may arise.
