A CHESTERFIELD man has been charged by South Yorkshire Police after an object was thrown at Reform UK leader Nigel Farage yesterday.
Josh Greally, 28, of Damsbrook Drive in Clowne, has been charged using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence following an incident in the town centre.
Farage was touring the town with local candidates throughout the day and when he arrived in the town centre he was met with protesters.
Greally reportedly threw objects at the bus, narrowly missing Farage and was subsequently arrested and charged.
Greally has been released on bail and will appear before Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on June 26.
