Homegrown right-back James Bree has left Oakwell for Championship rivals Aston Villa.
Bree, 19, who came through the club's academy before passing 50 appearances for The Reds in all competitions has joined Steve Bruce's side for what Barnsley FC are calling 'a substantial fee'.
The defender has agreed a four and a half year deal with Villa.
