IS this the most ‘Barnsley’ van in Barnsley?
Dale Fox, of Broast Street, Hoyland, has spent a small fortune on a custom spray job for his Mercedes Vito, transforming it from a fairly bog standard motor to a spectacular display of Barnsley history.
The 54-year-old said the artwork-on-wheels is a tribute to his hometown and was created by local lads Andy and Tom Scott, who are based in Shafton and specialise in airbrush work.
It pays homage to iconic characters from the town such as comedian Charlie Williams, actor Stan Richards who played Seth Armstrong in Emmerdale, Billy Casper from the film Kes and legendary cricket umpire Dickie Bird.
