BARNSLEY’S fate in the coming season will depend on the return of Ronnie The Red.
At least that’s the theory of Ronnie’s best mate Michael Penty.
Michael, of Downs Crescent, Gawber, reports that Ron is gone... and if he doesn’t come back Barnsley will be in bother.
He said: “My lucky Barnsley mascot Ronnie was recently stolen from the decking area of my garden.
“He’s approx two feet two inches high and my son purchased him 17 years ago from Skegness Market.
“During the time since we adopted Ronnie the Super Reds have made it to three Wembley finals, a Wembley FA Cup Semi Final and one Cardiff Millennium Final.
“It would be very appreciated if the Chronicle can help reunite us before we kick off the new Championship campaign.”
