PROSPECTIVE students and their families are invited to take a sneak peek at the new £18m Barnsley Sixth Form College on Tuesday.

The Sixth Form College campus on St Mary's Place is due to open to students in January and will house all of the college's A Level provision.

The open evening on Tuesday between 5pm and 7pm is open to anyone considering joining the college in the future and visitors will be able to speak to tutors, have a tour of the building and listen to talks on studying at Barnsley Sixth Form College and an Introduction to A Levels.

Principal Liz Leek said: "At Barnsley Sixth Form College we offer a wide range of subjects taught by enthusiastic expert tutors as well as a variety of different enrichment programmes. We have high expectations of all our students and expect that the standards they have for their own achievement match this.

"The coming months are set to be exciting for us and students will soon be joining us in our new, purpose-built Sixth Form campus.

"They'll be some of the first students to benefit from the first-class facilities at the new site in the heart of Barnsley and our open evening will be a great opportunity to have a preview of the building and facilities that will be available."
